Urgent Revision of Timings

Pearson's timetable requires us to push forward the presentations to 2pm on Monday 5 April. Likewise, the interviews will begin at 2pm on Tuesday. We will have two rounds of copytests: 2pm for the first batch, and 4pm for latecomers. On Monday I will have an excel spreadsheet with time slots. Please come to me during the presentations and sign up for your preferred timeslot for interview on Tuesday.

Pearson Coming to JU

At long last, we have finalised the dates for Pearson to come and interview the candidates from Edit Pub. They will be here over 5,6 and 7 April. On 5 April from 4 to 8pm we will have the final presentations by current students. This means about forty minutes per 'company', and 8-10 minutes per person.
On 6 April from 4pm we will start with a half-hour copy test for all the prospective interviewees. Then interviews from 5.30pm.
Ex-students of the course are welcome to present themselves for the copy test and interview. They should arrive on the 6th by 4pm.
If there is any overflow of interviews, we will continue from 4pm on 7th April.
All events in the AV Room of the English Department, JU.
To sum up:
5 April 4-8pm Project presentations by current students. Ex students need not come for this but can sit in and observe if they wish to do so.
6 April 4-4.30pm copytest
4.30-8pm interviews
7 April 4-6pm interviews.

The course fee of Rs 6,000 is to be paid at the time of registration by cash or demand draft or banker’s cheque payable in Kolkata, made out to the ‘School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University’. Personal cheques payable in Kolkata will be accepted, but if payment is refused, the fee will have to be paid in cash with an additional amount of Rs 100. Outstation cheques will not be accepted.
Selected candidates are required to produce original graduation certificates and mark-sheets on the day of admission.

Editpub course 2010

Applications are invited from Honours Graduates in any discipline for a PG Certificate Course in Editing and Publishing to be conducted by the School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University, from 4 January to 9 April 2010. Classes will normally be held four days a week from 6-8 p.m. Applicants have to appear for a screening test on 21 December 2009, at 5 p.m., to be held on the first floor of the UG Arts Building. Course fee: Rs 6,000. Applications may be made on plain paper or by email to culture@school.jdvu.ac.in, addressed to the Director, School of Cultural Texts and Records. Paper applications should be submitted to the School of Cultural Texts and Records, (UG Arts/ Science Building, 3rd floor, near Film Studies Department) between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on working days. Last date for receipt of applications: 18 December 2009. Photocopies of graduation certificate and mark-sheets must be produced on the day of screening test.
